The “G” Word

Say it with me “GOD” ..

Notice the emotion and story that bubbles up upon hearing or reading this word.

Did you choose this story or was it chosen for you?

Did you choose this emotion or was it chosen for you?

The most powerful word in the english language is being bastardized.

And because of this many of us have an emotional charge around this word that has more to do with a story we want to cling to than our own personal utility.

In pop culture the divide is clear.

The more liberal leaning people have painted God as the oppressive fictional character used to justify human greed and need for control.

The more conservative leaning people have painted God as the all knowing judgmental creator who we must atone to for our sins.

Both are disgusting characterizations of God.

They take the most sacred thing in the universe and try to humanize it.

God is not something that can be explained with the written word; despite our attempt to do so through religion since the beginning of time.

Any attempt to summarize God is just a grasping for control of the uncontrollable.

With that being said you can still find incredible utility in God, because regardless of whether we can understand God fully, God is still the emanating intelligence behind everything that ever was, is or will be.

Regardless of your religious or non-religious beliefs I want to provide you with some powerful ways to let God into your life in a way that empowers you to be your best.

  1. Surrender to God

Not surrendering in the sense of giving up or bowing down. Surrendering as in understanding that the only things we control in this life are our focus and choices, so everything else must be surrendered to a higher power. It is an incredibly freeing let go of the emotional burden of having to control everything on your own. Do all you can with your focus and choices and then put your faith in something greater than myself.

Is there something in your life right now that is out of your hands, but nonetheless bringing you anxiety? Now would be a good time to practice surrendering it to God.

  1. Align with God

If God is the emanating intelligence that is in and of everything that ever was, is or will be, it only makes sense to try and align with this energy for your best interest. Think about this. Where do your best insights and ideas come from? They seem to just appear out of nowhere, but surely they must have some source. If we think of ourselves as antennas that can connect to this source, it only makes sense to keep our frequency as clean as possible. The best way to do this is by cultivating a clear mind and clean body. That is why prayer, meditation, eating clean, fasting and cutting out drugs/alcohol have been religious practices since the beginning of time. It is all about keeping a clean vessel, so you can align with the divine.

Do you have any toxic habits that you know are disrupting your frequency? Now would be a good time to start setting them down, one by one.

  1. Calling upon God for strength

Following up from #2, listen I get it. Stopping bad habits, starting new positive habits and any form of stepping into discomfort can be extremely difficult. That is why I have cultivated the practice of asking God for strength in my time of need. God is THE source energy, so if you feel like you can’t do something on your own, don’t be afraid to let that energy in to support you. The energy of God flows infinitely, so don’t worry about writing an IOU.

What struggle do you have in your life right now that you could ask for God’s strength to overcome? Maybe it’s late not eating? Social media binging? Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to ask for God’s strength. That is what it’s there for. This infinite intelligence wants the best for you and will support you in stepping into your highest self.

I would love to hear which of these resonates most with you and how you plan to let God into your life to become unfuckwithable.

Also, anything else you want to share about your personal relationship with God is fair game. Let us know in the comments.

In God we trust.
