There is no such thing as a grey area when you are fully committed to your success.
It is black or white.
This truth is going to be foundational for our work together and your commitment to this will separate you from the pack.
I am sure you have heard the saying “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
Well, man or woman, we are on a point in the arc where we have a surplus of weak people that in turn will be creating hard times.
This weakness has come from a wishy washy attitude towards our personal standards that leave space for grey area in our lives.
Here are some examples..
You set a goal to workout 6x/week and by the end of the week you workout 4x and still consider that a success.
Friends and family may even tell you how great you are for exercising regularly and you reward yourself with eating foods that aren’t great for you or drinking excessively.
The truth is you didn’t do what you committed to and you should not be rewarding yourself.
Another example might be a commitment to make 50 sales calls in a day and you hit 35. Your boss might even tell you good job, but deep down you know the job wasn’t done. You broke the commitment to yourself.
Another one might be setting a bedtime of 10pm for yourself, so you can wake up earlier and more energized. You decide to watch the extra TV show, you go to bed at 11 and you wake up a little tired.
Yet another example is committing to eating healthy, but on the weekends you treat yourself with junk for to reward yourself for the previous 5 days of eating healthy.
Another one might be saying you are going to stop drinking or smoking, but you still do it in social situations when it’s convenient to let loose.
I want you to see into the matrix here for a moment.
It doesn’t actually matter what you commit to when you get started.
What matters is that you have personal integrity with doing what you said you were going to do.
Even though it might not seem like a big deal to almost hit your actionable goal; your subconscious knows that you didn’t do it and your confidence and self-belief will suffer because of it.
It is black and white. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.
The job was done or it was not done.
There are not participation trophies in real life.
As long as you live in this grey space you will live a life of mediocrity.
When you commit to viewing your actions as black and white you will gain the clarity necessary to evolve into your highest self.
Until you make that commitment you will stay stuck.
So here it is. Sit with this for a moment.
What have you already committed to (don’t pick anything new) and what would it look like if you fully followed through with your commitment?
I’m telling you, no one is going to hold you to this high of standard, because the majority of people around you are weak.
It has to come from you. Full ownership. 90% is not enough.
100% is success. No negotiating with yourself.
If that sounds scary then commit to less.
You don’t have to do everything all at once.
Back track on your commitments and build from a place of full integrity where you can go to sleep every night knowing you did what you told yourself you would do.
Finally, all of this should be action oriented, not outcome oriented.
You can’t control the externals.
The only thing you can control are your actions.
Now here is where things get fun for us.
I can help you as much as you are willing to let me, so let’s do this.
Drop a comment below sharing what you are committed to doing.
Make it black and white. Clarity is power.
Let’s support one another and build from there.
Giddy up!
